2024

Type: Social Drive
Club: Historic Rally Club (HRC)
Venue: North

Thornleigh Car Club members have been invited to participate in a celebration of the 1969 Southern Cross Rally, by way of a social drive following some of the same routes.

This event is being organised by Dave Johnson of Historic Rally Club, please get in contact with him for full event details.

A few people and machines from the 1969 event will be along to participate in various ways including Allan Lawson (Director of the 1969 Southern Cross), Dave Johnson (Nav for Andrew Cowan), Roger Bonhomme (Nav for Barry Ferguson), Tim Kennon (bringing the winning car, Austin 1800), Peter Houghton (2nd Class D finisher), Bob Watson (Waltons Rally Team of Renault TS's) and Dave Boddy (private Ford Falcon entry).

There are another couple of ex SX69ers that may still join the Tour to the Sunshine State.  The problem that the tour organisers now have to overcome is how to get all the stories told during the course of the Tour.

Full details of the Tour and Entry details available from hrcroadtours@gmail.com
